HOL CHAN AND SHARK RAY
ALLEY
Belize’s oldest marine reserve, the famous Hol Chan Marine Reserve was formed to protect the country’s marine life from overfishing and unregulated diving activity. As a result, this precious reserve is responsible for regenerating the plant and animal life along the reef and is now home to some of the most diverse marine life on the planet, including over 150 species of fish and nearly 40 types of coral. A premiere snorkeling destination, we invite you to experience the beauty and wildlife for yourself.
Add a thrilling adventure to your excursion with a stop at Shark Ray Alley, a dive spot teeming with nurse sharks and sting rays. Although the alley unofficially formed years ago when fishermen would clean their fish there, enticing sharks and rays to gather for a taste, they grew to anticipate meals at this location and to this day, will swarm when they hear boats approaching. Your guide will bring fish for feeding the sharks and rays while you hop in the water and get in on the action. Swimming (safely) with sharks not your thing? No worries, watching them swarm from your boat is a fun alternative and great photo op.
Led by one of our experienced guides, this trip includes all equipment, rum punch, water, taxes and park fees.
